Now you can help spread the word about the musicians on Afropop Worldwide and get on the inside track of the global music scene with free downloads and exclusive new music.

We are recruiting a crowd of music-obsessed people who love great music from everywhere. You can tell your friends about our Tune Your World campaign, support the cause of Fair Trade Music and build community among our enthusiastic supporters of independent music ians from around the world.

Share your music passions with your friends and you will be rewarded with free downloads and access to exclusive music offers as a way of saying thanks for your efforts.

Depending on your location and demonstrated enthusiasm, we may give you free concert tickets and send you to local shows to distribute postcards before and after the show. The more you tell people about Afropop Worldwide, the more you'll get in return.

Here’s how to get started.

Getting to know Afropop Worldwide.
1. First and foremost, you need to create a free account for yourself, if you haven’t already done so. Make sure that you sign up for our email list when you register.
2. Your next job is to familiarize yourself with our site. Read our About and Fair Trade Music pages. Comb through the artists, get a feel for how our site is laid out, and which parts of the site you are drawn to. When you’ve found an artist you like, the next job is to write a review of that artist on their artist page. This will help add content to our site while offering a fresh perspective to other viewers.
3. Once you have opened your account and posted your first review let us know and we’ll set you up as a site ‘Editor’ so that you can create a personal profile and make your own playlist. You can create your own mp3 album of your favorite songs and then share this ‘mixtape’ with your friends.

Spreading the word.
Once your first playlist is posted, we’ll send you a physical package containing 100 Afropop Worldwide postcards to hand out in your local area. It’s entirely up to you how to distribute these, but we’d like to see how dedicated you are, so for the next 14 days, we’ll be keeping close track of your progress. By this time you should have some feeling for music on the site that you are passionate about so we simply want you to share some of that passion with your friends. You can do this over the phone, at gatherings, when you go to classes or when you go to a local show.

Giving Your Feedback
For us to be able to keep track of your progress and hear your feedback on how you are doing you need to join our social network at this link http://calabash.zaadz.com/. On this site you can create a profile and keep track of your Afropop Worldwide Street Team work by posting daily entries on your Zaadz blog. Each day, write what you did to get the word out for Afropop Worldwide. You may report that you handed out cards during your lunch break at the corner of the street, or maybe that you had a 5 minute conversation with each of your pals about what Afropop Worldwide is. We are trusting you as a dedicated and enthusiastic Afropop Worldwideer to spread the word, and are looking forward to see how you’re going to do it.

You can also join the pod forum where other street teamers will be talking with us about best practices and early successes.

At the end of these first 14 days, we will evaluate your progress. You will be rewarded with 5 free downloads and access to our exclusive music offers as a way of saying thanks for your efforts. Depending on your location and demonstrated enthusiasm, we may give you free local concert tickets and send you to a local show to distribute postcards before and after the show. There are many more opportunities for additional rewards, so spread the word and report it on your Zaadz blog!
